These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Sokofy, a point-of-sale (POS) and business management application operated by Busara Digital (“Busara Digital”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Sokofy through our mobile applications, associated services, or related features (collectively, the “Service”), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.
These Terms apply to all users, including business owners, shopkeepers, and any authorized users operating the Service on behalf of a business.
You must be at least sixteen (16) years of age to use Sokofy. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.
You represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement under applicable law. If you are using Sokofy on behalf of a business, company, or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
Sokofy is intended for business and commercial use. Use for personal, non-business purposes is not the primary intended use of the Service.
Sokofy is currently intended for users in the United Republic of Tanzania. We may expand availability to other countries in the future. Where required, we will update these Terms and related notices to address new legal and operational requirements.
Sokofy is designed to help you run day-to-day shop operations, including:
Sokofy is primarily offline-first: core business data is stored locally on your device. Some features require an internet connection (for example, account authentication, email OTP verification, support submissions, and account deletion).
To access certain features of the Service, you may be required to create an account using:
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep such information updated.
For security, Sokofy uses one-time verification codes (“OTP”) for certain flows, including email verification and password reset. Codes are sent to the email address you provide or use for sign-in. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure.
You are solely responsible for:
You must not share your login credentials with any third party. Busara Digital is not responsible for any loss, damage, or unauthorized access resulting from your failure to secure your account or device.
You agree to notify us immediately if you suspect:
You may use Sokofy solely for lawful business purposes, including:
You agree not to use the Service for:
Any misuse of the Service may result in immediate suspension or termination.
Most Sokofy business data is stored locally on your device. If you delete the app, clear app storage, use the in-app local data reset feature, reset your device, or lose access to your device, you may lose some or all local data.
Sokofy may provide an in-app feature in Settings that allows you to reset local business data for the active business on that device. This feature is intended for users who want to clear local records and start again. It does not, by itself, delete your Sokofy account, and some user or device preferences may remain unless removed through separate actions. The reset flow is designed as a destructive action and requires explicit user confirmation before completion.
Sokofy can generate reports (including PDF reports) and allows you to share or export them. Any sharing, printing, or exporting is initiated and controlled by you. You are responsible for choosing recipients and protecting any exported data.
Sokofy may include optional security features such as app lock and biometric unlock, depending on your device. Biometric authentication is handled by your device operating system. You are responsible for enabling and using device-level security (such as screen lock and account security) and for keeping your device secure.
We strive to provide a reliable Service; however:
We reserve the right to:
We are not liable for any loss resulting from changes, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.
Sokofy uses third-party services to provide certain features, including:
Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and policies in addition to these Terms. For more information about how information is handled, see our Privacy Policy.
If you contact support or submit a support request or feature request through Sokofy, you authorize us to receive and respond to your request. Support requests may include the message you provide and basic technical details (such as app version, platform, and the screen you were on) to help with troubleshooting.
Support channels may include WhatsApp and email. See the Contact Information section below for current details.
Sokofy is currently provided free of charge and does not process payments or subscriptions.
If paid features, subscriptions, or premium services are introduced in the future:
Refund policies, if applicable, will be defined at the time paid services are introduced and will comply with applicable laws and app store policies.
All rights, title, and interest in and to the Service, including but not limited to software, source code, designs, logos, trademarks, text, graphics, and interfaces, are owned exclusively by Busara Digital or its licensors.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Busara Digital grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Sokofy solely for your internal business operations.
You do not acquire ownership rights to any part of the Service.
You may stop using the Service at any time by deleting the application from your device.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if:
Termination may occur without prior notice where immediate action is required.
Sokofy may provide an in-app account deletion feature. Account deletion is intended to permanently remove your Sokofy account and erase this account’s local business data stored on the device.
For step-by-step instructions, see: How to Delete Your Sokofy Account.
Upon termination:
If you use the in-app local data reset feature, you are responsible for confirming that you want to permanently erase those local business records. That reset action is intended to be destructive and cannot be undone.
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Busara Digital disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, accuracy or reliability of data, and availability or uptime.
You use Sokofy at your own risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Busara Digital shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, business interruption, or data loss.
Our total liability, if any, shall not exceed the amount paid by you to use the Service (if applicable).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising out of or related to these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Tanzania.
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect:
Updated Terms will be made available through app store listings, in-app notices, or our official website. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
